SCRUFILTER
The compact SCRUFILTER units can be used inDownstream Processing many applications of micro-filtration in order to reduce fine suspended solids from water down to 20 microns. The reduction of suspended solids is accompanied by a reduction in COD, BOD5, phosphorus, nitrates and other substances. In the case of further treatment with UV for disinfection it is important to reduce the turbidity caused by suspended solids.

Standard filters are produced with supports in ABS and filter cloths in polyester. These can also be produced completely in stainless steel. The filter cloth is selected according to the requirements which can be 20 – 30 – 40 – 60 – 80 or 100 microns. On special request different filter sizes can be produced.
Typical Applications
  • Waste water treatment plants (improvement of discharge)
  • Waste water treatment plants (removal of phosphates)
  • Water recovery (food industry, textile, paper mill, etc.)
  • Beverage production plants
  • Fish-breeding farms
  • Filtration of surface water (river, lake, etc) and well water
Advantages
  1. High capacity
  2. Special civil works are not required.
  3. Level sensors for washing system are not present.
  4. Emergency overflow system.
  5. Economical exchange of the filter cloths.
  6. Simple and quick substitution of the filter plates without the necessity to remove the drum from the frame.
Criteria of Sizing
Fundamental Parameters:
  1. Capacity required in m3/h (or l/s if flow is not continuous).
  2. Quantity of suspended solids in inlet
  3. Requirements of filtered water
  4. Type of application
In the majority of applications for tertiary treatment, cloths of 40 micros are used to achieve a reduction of 70-80% of the suspended solids. This obviously depends on the inlet quality.

Outlet <30 mg/l when inlet <100 mg/l

MONOBELTMonobelt
Belt filter press for sludge dewatering
The MONOBELT belt filter press is an entirely new patented design.
It comprises two units, the pre-thickener and the sludge press. The pre-thickener performs the initial solid-liquid separation stage, taking sludge solids concentration from 0.5-3% up to 5-15%.
The sludge press takes pre-thickened sludge and spreads it uniformly onto the main filter cloth via a series of baffles. Final dewatering occurs at the sludge cake passes between the perforated cylinder, which is covered with secondary cloth, and the main cloth.
Discharged sludge cake can reach dry solids contents of 18-30%.
TEKNOFANGHI’s extensive experience in sludge handling has allowed the company to produce this innovative belt press which uses an endless belt. Results from existing installations confirm that, as well as producing dryer cake than traditional equipment using the same width of filter cloth, a higher sludge throughput can also be obtained. The use of the endless cloth together with the machine’s unique design allows for rapid and simple maintenance and associated cost reductions.
The alignment and tension of the belt are controlled from the main control panel using pneumatic actuators.
Sensors monitor the operation of the machine and halt operation in the event of malfunction.
The control system provides automatic operation of the sludge pump and chemical dosing equipment.
In keeping with our high standards, the machines are manufactured in 304 stainless steel.

SCRUDRAINScrudrain
SCRUDRAIN thickeners manufactured by TEKNOFANGHI are the modern and economical solution to sludge thickening. Sludge thickeners are widely used in may wastewater and water treatment plants. They are generally placed before filter presses, belt presses and centrifuges to achieve higher sludge concentration before biogas reactors, thus enabling the use of smaller biogas reactors. Other applications are to reduce the volume of sludge before being pumped into drying beds or being used in agriculture. This equipment can also be used to remove coarse material such as fibers in the textile industry. The principal and clear advantage of the SCRUDRAIN thickeners is the use of an Archimedean screw instead of only the conventional drum filter. The filter cloth made of polyester is fixed to the Archimedean screw, making a drum with a screw inside. The drum filter is rotated by an adjustable gear motor. This design enables an easy and simple control of the dewatering process by adjusting the rotating speed to achieve the optimal dewatering time and preventing short-circuiting. The achievable dewatering results are much higher than with conventional systems. The filter cloth is kept clean by making use of washing water at high pressure from outside. Filtrate could be used. The filter cloth has a long life, since it is not under tensile stress. SCRUDRAIN thickeners are supplied complete with control panel, washing pump and all ancillary equipment necessary for efficient operation. The SCRUDRAIN thickeners are supplied as complete assembled and tested units in order to minimize installation time and costs. The SCRUDRAIN sludge thickeners can handle from a few m3/h to a maximum of 60 m3/h, depending on the type of sludge and the dry solid content. Changing the speed of the Archimedean screw allows adjustment of the concentration of the thickened sludge and minimizes the use of polyelectrolyte according to requirements. As a general guide, sludge with 0.5-3% can be thickened to 5-15% DS.

In keeping with our well known high standards, all sludge treatment equipment is made of AISI 304 stainless steel.

TEKNOBAG DRAIMAD
The Teknobag DraimadTEKNOBAG DRAIMAD system dewaters and bags sludge from water and effluent purification plants. The heart of the system is the special filtration sack made from “TNT” water repellent material.
The sacks are mounted on a special stainless steel frame designed to give even sludge distribution.
The system is electronically controlled from a programmable control panel, ensuring correct process operation.
Dewatering and Drying
After a few hours operation, dry solids contents of 15-30% can be achieved, depending on the nature of the sludge. The volume of dewatered sludge produced is dependent on the solid content of raw and dewatered sludge’s and with raw sludge contents of 1% dries solids, one machine can treat up to 20 m3 per day.

After the initial dewatering stage on the machine, the sacks are sealed and removed with a special sack trolley and stored in the open. During this second phase, sludge weight and volume continue to reduce, regardless of weather conditions. The special water repellent material of the sacks prevents rainwater from entering but allows dehydration of the contents by evaporation.

After two months storage, a cake of 50-95% dry solids content is produced. As an example, 1 m3 of sludge at 1% solids content would give, after two months, a cake of at least 50% dry solids content. This would weigh only 25 Kg and represents a 40-fold reduction of the original weight.
Packing
The sacks containing the dried cake act as strong containers, allowing for ease of disposal. Given the low cost of the disposable sacks and the extreme simplicity of the equipment the TEKNOBAG DRAIMAD system reduces cake disposal costs and further improves payback times on what is, in any event, a low capital outlay.
